Forsyth County’s Central Park is gearing up to host the Fourth Annual “Christmas in Central Park” on Saturday, November 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 23 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
This exciting event is sponsored by Forsyth County Parks & Recreation Dept. & Sawnee Artists Association and will feature unique arts and crafts and items for the holidays, food booths, children's activities, music and entertainment. And best of all, admission is free! Entertainment will be ongoing throughout both days and Saturday evening will end with the “Lighting of the Tree” at 5:30 p.m.
Pictures with Santa will be available from 10:30 – 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. on Sunday and Mrs. Clause will be there too.
“New” last year the Silent Tree Auction sponsored by the Sawnee Women’s Club will be back with beautifully decorated trees ready for you to take home!
Wayne’s Train the “Dahlonega,” will be providing exciting train rides throughout the festival hours.
Dan Yackel will be offering “Hay Rides” through the woods with an Antique Tractor and Wagons! Wonderful treat for all!
Country Gourmet will be providing a variety of breakfast treats and lunch specials in the “Sugar Plum Café.”
All vendors will be selling a variety of unique handcrafted items such as stained glass, hand made scarves, purses, dichroic fused glass and hand made jewelry, pottery, candles, soaps, lotions, hand turned wood artwork, Greek pastries, photography, bark baskets, acrylics, oils and watercolors, warm glass, holiday ornaments, quilts, fiber arts, wood carving and much more.

The second annual "Family Water Fest" at Lake Lanier will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Young Deer Park on Lake Lanier. Keep Forsyth County Beautiful, along with Forsyth County Parks and Recreation, will be hosting this water awareness event. The purpose is to provide citizens with a forum to learn about recreational opportunities involving water and water quality issues affecting Georgia and its citizens. The afternoon will be full of fun activities, great food, and education that every family member can enjoy. Any group, business, organization or individual is invited who has a passion for enjoying and protecting our precious waterways to come out and volunteer or set up an exhibit.
