Mike & Melody: We're Back From Mexico!
We are back from our June mission trip to Piedras Negras, Mexico. We accomplished some great things despite the 115 degree daily temperatures. Mike is working on his carpentry skills as we built trusses for the roof of the parsonage next to the church. Two of our ladies helped with a medical mission clinic. Each evening, the vacation bible school was a big hit with the kids and a lot of fun for all of us. Melody took pictures of each of the children, printed them on a portable print and gave them their very own picture. The kids just love a picture of themselves. Here are just a few of our trip photos. Please check back at our website, www.vanderhoffteam.com, as we are hoping to add a larger collection of photos to share with you.

Buying a new home and why you need your own Real Estate Agent.
The “on-site” agents in any new community under construction represent the builder, and only the builder. They will fill out your contract, help you pick your upgrades, but always remember, they do not represent you or your interest. Whether you are signing a contract on a home that is about to be built, or was just built, it is important to have someone looking out for you. A good agent will help you through the construction phase, through the closing and well into the warranty work. It is a good agent that makes sure you buy a home that has a good warranty and that will represent you and advise you on how to ensure the builder repairs all defects covered by the warranties, long after you close. You will not pay any more for your new home to have your own Realtor representing you. However, if you rely on the builder’s agent to take care of you, you may not end up with what you expected, and will still have no one to help you with the warranty work after you have closed. No matter who you choose as an agent to represent you, make sure you have someone looking out for your interests. This will most likely be your biggest investment. We hope you will consider The Vanderhoff Team to take care of you in your next new home purchase.
