Happy 4th of July!We enjoyed a great evening of fireworks at the Cumming Fairgrounds last night. The weather was mild, breezy and a little cool....perfect for July!! If you missed the fantastic fireworks display in Cumming last night, don't worry. You can still catch most of the other shows tonight. Here's a few of my favorites!
Alpharetta: The Recreation & Parks Department will host this year's spectacular Fireworks show at Wills Park in Alpharetta. Childrens activities & entertainment will be on the Event Lawn from 5pm-8pm. Food vendors will be located throughout the park. Another "Awesome" Alpharetta event! Free Admission and Parking. Lake Lanier: Lake Lanier Islands shoots off a fantastic fireworks show each year. You can either head over to the islands and join in the festivities, or grab a boat and find a spot on the lake to enjoy the show. Looking for a great way to spend 4th of July weekend close to home? Come visit us up here on Lake Lanier. The lake is up and the water is perfect! So bring your boat (or your friend or relative with a boat) and enjoy a great 4th of July. And, don't worry if you don't have a boat. And....Don't forget the fireworks! Although there will be many events taking place on the lake for July 4th, the largest firework display in North Georgia, and perhaps the most well-known in the region is the Light Up the Lake Fireworks Independence Day Celebration hosted by Lake Lanier Islands. All-day live entertainment, games, and family fun will precede the fireworks extravaganza. Bring your family and friends this Saturday, December 6th for fun and festivities as the Christmas tree atop of Northside Hospital - Forsyth is set aglow! The free event will bring more than 3,500 people together for an afternoon of fun and celebration. Activities will include food, face painters, clowns, local school bands, choral performances and dancers. Santa Claus will also be on hand to take pictures and visit with the children.
Lights on the trees can be purchased in honor or memory of family and friends. Festive cards will be sent to honorees and families of those memorialized. All gifts are tax-deductible and benefit Northside Hospital’s Cancer Care Program. For more information visit
