The Dawson County Extension Service is hosting a produce market in Dawsonville. Last year’s produce market was a great success, with farmers and gardeners selling locally-grown fruits and vegetables to Dawson County residents and beyond. The market will open on Wednesday, July 1, and the details of this year’s produce market are as follows:
* The market will be held from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. each Wednesday and Saturday. (It should be noted that last year, many sellers were sold out by 9:00 a.m.);
* The produce market will be located in the parking lot of the Dawson County Agricultural Center in Dawsonville (old library building);
* Only locally-grown fruits and vegetables, not canned, may be sold. To ensure produces are locally grown, sellers must be from Dawson County or a county that touches Dawson. Sellers will have to sign a form that states they understand and will follow the produce market rules. A copy of the rules may be picked up at the Dawson County Extension Office;
* To sell at the market is free and everyone is welcome to buy produce.
